Summer Motorcycle Rallies

Got a great motorcycle you love to ride? Have a full tank and some cash burning a hole in your pocket? You’re in luck. Here are some of the best motorcycle rallies you should see this summer.

The Women’s Moto Exhibit

June 29th -30th

If you’re anywhere near Oregon this June, head over to Latus Harley-Davidson in Gladstone. This two-day exhibit was put together by an enthusiast rider and photographer. While the goal is to broaden perspectives about female riders, the exhibit includes a solid bike show, group ride, and interestingly, an art photo documentary. We need more women riding, so swing on by to show support. If you can’t make it, there is another one in the September in Vancouver BC.

Roar On the Shore Bike Rally 2015

roar on the shore 2014July 15th – 18th

Possibly one of the nation’s best free rallies, Roar is hosted at Erie, Pennsylvania, and is a summer event you shouldn’t miss. 100,000+ bikers and enthusiasts celebrate all things motorcycle with contests, bike shows, how-tos, customs, bands, and awesome rides all olong the Great Lakes region. Don’t be late, as one of the best features is the Roar Bike Parade. It’s one of the largest in the country, with over 5,000 bikers.

Testicle Festival

July 29th – August 2nd

No, this rally isn’t the opposite of the women’s one above. The “Testy Festy” as it’s called by fans, is a raucous five-day party in Clinton, Montana. Hosted at the huge Rock Creek Lodge, this annual event sees 15,000 people eating 5,000 lbs of deep fried bull testicles. The website calls it: “Five days of nonstop fun.” There will be DJ’s & live music, dancing & drinking, performances & contests, food and much more. If you can’t tell, this one is for ages 21+. Bring plenty of aspirin and Coca-Cola for the day after.

These last few have already passed — but there’s always next year, so put them on your calendar now for 2016!

Myrtle Beach Bike Week

May 8 – 17, 2015

Called “The Carolina’s Largest Motorcycle Event”, Myrtle Beach is an excellent choice for the biker on the east coast. There is the usual bike shows, and live music, but South Carolina really kicks it up a notch. There are several tour rides available; up the coast, the beautiful loop tour, and even wine country tours. You can get a cool commemorative coin if you sign up now. Get to it!

Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally

May 21 – 25, 2015

Want some service with your party? This rally offers both. It’s no secret that a lot of bikers are vets, and a lot of the rest are very patriotic. Head to Read River, New Mexico this May for a patriotic spin on the usual biker rally. Sure, there will be food, live music, vendors and the like, but also a veteran’s parade, and a group ride to the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in nearby Angel Falls.

And, of course, there’s Sturgis in August — but we’ll talk more about that as the 75th Annual Rally approaches.
