The Clymer folks love motorcycles, ATVs, and powersports in general. You might think that after a long day of work the last thing we would want is to talk about bikes. You would be wrong. This September we’ll be at the American International Motorcycle Expo is at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, in Ohio not far from the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickering.
AIMExpo (as it is popularly known) is the biggest powersports industry trade show in the USA, with industry insiders getting an early peek at 2020 models and products. But on Saturday and Sunday, the general public is invited too! See and touch all the new products from nearly every motorcycle manufacturer, big or small, plus scooters, ATVs, SxS, UTVs, accessories, gear and more.
We love to talk to our customers and hear first hand feedback from you. Shows like this are a great time to make suggestions about future manuals you’d like to see from us, or help us make the next edition even better.
Ride the Latest Bikes
You can look at and sit on all the latest bikes, and there will also be fleets of test bikes and demo rides from Harley-Davidson, Husqvarna, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, and KTM, as well as a three-wheeled sports car from Vanderhall. So bring a helmet, long pants, gloves, and proper shoes that cover your ankles.
The actual exhibit halls are restricted to professionals and those in the trade on Thursday and Friday, but the test rides aren’t!
Seems like a perfect reason to skip work and go riding!
Indoor Flat Track Racing
Plan on staying late Saturday night, because Harley-Davidson and the AMA have created an indoor flat track on the polished concrete floor of a convention center hall. Called Sideways Saturdays, it will pit kids, amateurs and professional racers racing prepared flat track bikes, e-bikes, minis, and a catch all “Run What Ya Brung” class.

Take Our Latest Manuals For a Spin
At the Clymer booth (number 1847 across from the big Honda display) you’ll be able to check out paper and digital versions of our latest powersports titles, plus the latest from Haynes, our UK parent company. Clymer will have a sneak peek of some of what will be in the upcoming Harley-Davidson Milwaukee 8 touring bike manual, plus the latest titles for the Honda VT1300 choppers, and Yamaha XT250/TT-R230 dirt bikes. New titles from Haynes include the Honda Africa Twin, Indian Royal Enfield 500/535 singles, and Yamaha YZF450 ATVs manuals. We will also both have on display newly digitized versions of many classic manuals, like the best selling Harley-Davidson Panhead book, and the 1969-78 Honda CB750 SOHC.
We’ll even be showing off the new Haynes AllAccess system, which allows shops instant online access to every powersports manual that has been digitized, from both Haynes and Clymer, with more new and old titles being added all the time. If you run a multi-line independent motorcycle or powersports shop, be sure to come by and see how easy it is to find anything in any of the titles available, for a $33 monthly subscription. This new online system includes not just street bikes and dirt bikes, but ATVs, marine and snowmobile manuals too.
If you are a dealer, mechanic, custom builder, shop owner, or other power sports pro, come see us on Thursday or Friday, September 26th and 27th. Or if you just like motorcycles/ATVs, stop by the show on Saturday or Sunday the 28th and 29th.
Get $12 discounted general admission for Saturday or Sunday when you use the promo code HC19 at AIMExpoUSA.com. If you can’t get to the show, check out our Instagram account all that week for cool pictures from the show.
