The Congregation Vintage and Custom Motorcycle Show – Charlotte, North Carolina

The Congregation Show, only in its second year, is quickly rivaling the likes of Austin’s Handbuilt Show, The One Show in Portland, OR, and LA’s Outlier’s Guild Moto Show. Hosted by DICE Magazine, Harley-Davidson and operated by the boys of Prism Supply, this vintage motorcycle show features a variety of talented custom builders from around the country.

This year’s show saw over 5,000 attendees, 120 motorcycles, 25 hot rods and over 40 vendors. One of our favorite parts of the show is the venue: Camp North End. It’s a former Ford Model T assembly plant, across an alleyway from Prism Supply’s shop in Charlotte, North Carolina.… Read the rest

The 2nd Annual Outlier’s Guild Custom Motorcycle Show – L.A., CA

Southern California is one of the largest motorcycle markets in the country, even without the northern half of the state, so it has its fair share of motorcycle events over the course of the year. Not only are there plenty of enthusiasts to attend, the vast majority of motorcycle aftermarket companies are all within 150 miles of Los Angeles, and most of the big Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are headquartered there. One of the newest and hippest shows, returning for just the second year in 2018, is the Outlier’s Guild Motorcycle Show, aka the OG Motoshow.

1978 Honda Hawk CB400A Hondamatic – 2013 HoAME Motorcycle Show

Honda had the audacity back in the 1970s to try what few had before, namely, fitting an automatic transmission to a motorcycle.  Considered just an entry level commuter when new, the Hondamatic CB400A, as seen at the 2013 Heart of America Motorcycle Enthusiasts show and rally, is rare to find in nice condition today. The small, light bikes were advanced for their day, and were able to maintain freeway speeds while getting mileage in the 50 mpg range, and still being fun to ride.

Clymer Manuals got up close with Glen Davis’s 1946 Indian Chief police bike at the 2013 HoAME Vintage Motorcycle Show. This classic American-made motorcycle was named 2nd Place – Best Indian by Austin Motorsports.

Clymer Girl and the crew didn’t have to go far to attend the HoAME show and rally, as it was just up the road at the Kansas City Airline History Museum in the Downtown Airport.
